Dear Chris,
I am writing to you in support of the email sent to you by Damian Tow, Director of Brighton Energy Co-op, on the 14th of October, and because I too have heard persistent, but unconfirmed, rumours that changes to feed-in tariffs for PV schemes will be brought in on the 1st of January, and will include an absolute slashing of the rate to only 9p.
I would not usually write to you on the basis of hear-say, but the voices expressing these concerns are credible and becoming increasingly loud. Therefore, in the interests of much needed stability in the solar PV sector in particular, and renewables sector in general, I urge you to issue a categorical denial of suggestions that these changes will go ahead.
As you can see from Damian's email, if such swingeing changes were introduced so quickly, or, indeed, at all, they would have a massive detrimental impact on renewable energy producers across the country.
I look forward to hearing from you as promptly as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Caroline Lucas, MP, Brighton Pavilion
