Kept Animals Bill

Dear Zac,

I am writing to you on behalf of a number of my constituents regarding the Kept Animals Bill. My constituents are concerned about the Government’s proposals to exclude cats and kittens from protections against pet smuggling.

I want to share my constituents’ concerns, and urge you to support Cat Protection’s proposed changes - namely:

• A ban on the import of kittens under six months of age
• A ban on the import of pregnant cats which are more than 42 days pregnant
• A ban on the import of cats which have been declawed
