Yesterday I visited Media House at HMP Downview, a hugely impressive media training unit that not only helps women address issues like domestic violence and previous involvement in gangs, but also to secure a better future when they leave prison.
One of my constituents is a tutor there and wanted me to see firsthand how they support women to achieve a media qualification, gain practical experience of every aspect of making films for prison TV, and undertake volunteer placements on release.
Incredibly inspiring. So too was spending some time at the protest camp at St Paul's in central London. It's only a stone's throw from the London Stock Exchange but a million miles away in terms of the kind of future being created.
