Board with Brown

The slogan 'Labour is old news in Brighton' - which lines each of the 14 billboards which currently paper Brighton (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilyfurneaux/3953520232/sizes/l) - has this week felt more like a prophecy.

In the presence of the Labour Party Conference, our position as much more than a serious rival has surely been galvanised.

On Sunday I was honoured to speak at the ‘Rage Against New Labour‘ demo (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lilyfurneaux/3959371571/ ), and that afternoon (much to the annoyance of Labour Mps and activists) I was invited to speak at both a Compass meeting and the Fabian Question Time.

Our campaign to win Pavilion is really gathering pace and the Labour fringe has taken notice.

Maybe Allegra Stratton is right (http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/blog/2009/sep/27/compass-caroline-lucas) and our rigorous social policy now sees the Green Party with a great deal more in common with Compass and the fringe than ‘the labour lot’.
