Responding to yesterday's announcement from the Department for Energy and Climate Change that the Warm Front budget is now fully allocated for this financial year (up to April 2011), meaning that no further applications by fuel poor and vulnerable customers can be accepted, Caroline said:

"It is absolutely scandalous that the Government is abandoning those who live in fuel poverty.

"In my Brighton Pavilion constituency alone, fuel poverty affects over 5,000 households - which is around 12% of all homes.

"This is a real slap in the face for people hoping to have their homes properly insulated as the cold winter months kick in."
