Brighton Pavilion's MP is challenging planned cuts to local BBC radio and television ahead of a Parliamentary debate this afternoon.
Caroline, who is a top signatory of a Backbench Business resolution on protecting local BBC services from cuts, is calling on the BBC and the Government to do more to safeguard news outlets in the region.
She said: "I am deeply concerned about the impact of proposed cuts to local BBC services in Brighton and Hove, which could lead to job losses and result in far less TV and radio being generated locally.
"At particular risk is our local radio, which people really value as a way of keeping up with the latest developments in their area - especially in emergency situations.
"I hope the debate in Parliament today will make the BBC think again about the scale and timing of these cuts, and encourage the Government to do more to safeguard local news services."
