The Independent on Sunday is backing the Green Party in Brighton Pavilion constituency as the best placed party to beat the Conservatives in Thursday's general election.

The paper says, "There are ....two secondary battlegrounds, where the Liberal Democrats or other minor parties pose a threat to Labour and the Conservatives. Anti-Tory voters in the seats in List 2 should vote for the Lib Dems (or the Green Party in Brighton Pavilion), who are best placed to beat a likely Tory winner..."

Matt Follett, Chair of Brighton and Hove Green Party, said, "That the Independent on Sunday is backing us shows we are best placed to stop the Tories in Brighton Pavilion, whatever's happening in national polls.

"The bookies have us as odds-on favourites and professional polls and results point to a Green win over the Tories here.
