Parliament is formally back at work today after the Christmas recess.
However, I have been dealing with emails and other correspondence through the break and have been lobbied extensively about this week's forthcoming debate and vote on the pubs sector.
Various parliamentary committees have recommended time and again that the current terms imposed on pub lessees by the big pub owning companies are unfair.
But the Government are dragging their feet over reform.
They have struck a deal with the British Beer and Pub Association, but it does not sufficiently help the many tied pubs in Brighton Pavilion and across the city that are being held to ransom under the terms of their current leases.
I am hoping to speak in the debate on Thursday and have already raised my concerns on a number of occasions with Ministers.
Brighton and Hove has some fantastic community pubs and the Government is not doing enough to protect and support them.
