Caroline has responded to damning stats which show that investment in clean energy plunged by more in Britain than in any other country last year because of government policy changes. 

Analysis by Bloomberg Energy New Finance (BNEF) shows that the amount companies spent on green energy has fallen for two years in a row under the Conservatives.

Caroline said:

"Behind the Government's green veneer we see continued failure on green energy. Under the Prime Minister's watch investment in clean technology has slumped, because of government policy changes. Make no mistake, these new statistics are damning. 

"Rather than repeatedly patting themselves on the back for their eco credentials the Government should be giving green technology investors the long-term guarantees they need - and putting Britain at the centre of the global renewables revolution."
