Independent Drugs Commission public meeting

Caroline speaking at the public meeting

On Wednesday I hosted a public meeting about the independent Drugs Commission for Brighton & Hove.

The Commission was set up last Spring by the council’s Safe in the City Partnership.

It aimed to take a fresh look at the city's response to problems associated with drug markets and drug use, and to explore further ways to reduce drug related harm in the city.

The Commission has now published draft recommendations and is inviting local residents to comment.

I’m keen that as many people as possible have the opportunity to have their say, so invited members of the Commission to speak at last night’s meeting at City College.

The evening went very well, with plenty of questions and discussions.

The Commission’s draft report and recommendations are at http://bit.ly/XskKNB and the deadline for feedback is today (March 1st) so, if you’d like to comment, go to http://bit.ly/XiMtin straightaway!
