This week’s crisis in Port Talbot and elsewhere has not come out of the blue – Britain’s steel industry has been in trouble for some time now – and David Cameron, business secretary Sajid Javid, and the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills all appear to have been asleep on the job.

Government sell off of Green Investment Bank is 'rash and irresponsible' says Caroline

Caroline has critcicised a Government plan to sell off a large chunk of its stake in the Green Investment Bank. 

Government plans, outlined today by the Business Secretary Sajid Javid, could see up to 70% of the bank being privatised.

Blog: Today's climate lobby couldn't be more timely

Caroline met with a number of contituents earlier today as part The Climate Coalition's mass lobby of Parliament. Here's her thoughts on the day:

Earlier today I met several Brighton constituents who came to Westminster as part of the mass climate lobby organised by The Climate Coalition. It was great to see them after I came out of Prime Minister Questions where I pressed for the Parliamentary Pension Fund to divest from coal.

The very existence of adult education is in jeopardy

Caroline Lucas, the Green Party’s MP for Brighton Pavilion, has warned of a crisis in the further education sector as Government plans for swingeing cuts come into force.

Caroline made her comments at the University and College Union’s #LoveFE lobby in Parliament.  The Skills Funding Agency has estimated that cuts could amount to 24% for non-apprenticeship learning in 2015-16. [1]
